Radial Shockwave Therapy is a clinically proven treatment for tendonopathy and bursitis. Warrior are believe this treatment should be affordable to everybody, not just those with health insurance or deep pockets.

How does it work?

Shockwave works by pushing high energy sound waves into areas of the body where long term injuries have caused reduced circulation and increased pain. It works by changing the way the body sends blood to the area, and by damping down the pain sensors in that area. The machine has gun shaped applicator that the therapist presses into the affected area of your body, delivering 2000-4000 shocks in each treatment. 

Will it hurt?

Short answer - probably! The amount of energy being pushed into a very small area can make it feel quite sore. You might feel a bit bruised afterworlds, and my be advised to rest from rehab or exercise for a day or two

How many sessions do I need?

Research and experience shows you need around 5 sessions in a short space of time 2-3 weeks for it to be most effective. The sessions are very short, 10-15 minutes compared to our usual 45 or 60 minute slots for other therapies.

How much does it cost?

At Warrior we charge £75 a session for the first 5 sessions, and £66 for any further sessions you may require. A course of Shockwave Therapy with Warrior will cost you £375 to £500. We are recognised by all major insures to provide shockwave therapy.

Is it right for me?

Research shows Shockwave to be effective at treating the following condtions

• Tendonopathy (for example Achilles / Patella / Gluteal / Hamstring / Rotator Cuff)

• Plantar fasciitis

• Calcific Tendonopahy

• Bursitis (these are particularly common around the hip, knee and shoudler)

• Difficult to heal ligament injury

• Stress Fractures

• Long standing Trigger points

• Some nerve pain.
